As part of a class action lawsuit, AT&T will start providing unlock codes for all phones under the following conditions. First, the customer must have 90 days of active service. Second, the customer must be able to provide proof of purchase for the phone. Third, if AT&T has an exclusive agreement on the device for less than 10 months, the customer must wait until that 10 months is over before providing the code. If the exclusive is longer than 10 months, they will never provide the code.
If you want to opt out of the settlement or object to it, you have until June 4, 2010 to post mark your filing. The final approval hearing will be held July 2, 2010. For more information, visit www.attlockinglawsuits.com.
