Electronista reports that analysts at Goldman Sachs state that Blackberry and Nokia are about to see their market share plunge. A check of the top 4 US carriers shows that outside of AT&T, Blackberry is no longer the smartphone leader, having lost most of its market share to Android. On US subscriber leader Verizon, the top Smartphone spots are now occupied by the Droid and Droid Incredible. For Sprint, it’s the EVO 4G, and for T-Mobile the myTouch 3G slide. While still selling more units then ever (11 million is the latest estimate), this will likely come in lower than the guidance set by a few hundred thousand units. With the recent Nokia announcement of the anticipated miss of their sales targets, it’s likely that unless a new breakthrough product hits the market soon for the Finish phone giant, they will continue to play catch-up in an already weak US market.
