EVO 4G software update coming June 28th

Not officially confirmed, but it seems that the EVO 4G on Sprint will be getting a software upgrade early in the week.  Improvements include:

  • Improvements to Wi-Fi performance
  • Exchange Active Sync improvements which include a fix to issue including new account set up, PIN policy usage, and Exchange Server 2010 Calendar Sync
  • Addresses Social Networking Sync issue with Facebook application which can improve battery performance

Late in the week, Sprint confirmed the EVO upgrade toAndroid 2.2.  While no date was given, they said the update would “be available in the near future”.  Sprint’s other Android phones, the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment, will not receive the system update.
