Google remotely killing apps

25 06 2010

Google recently stated that it is using one of the security features for Android by removing applications that violate it’s terms of service from both the Android Market and user handsets.  They said that 2 separate applications “intentionally misrepresented their purpose in order to encourage user downloads, but they were not designed to be used maliciously, and did not have permission to access private data.”  Names of the applications were not given, and said that due to the uselessness of the apps, most users were uninstalling them shortly after installation.
