When Apple first announced the iPad earlier this year, promises of non-contract, unlimited data any month you want it were given here in the US. Now, AT&T has replaced the $30 unlimited data plan with a $25 option which caps your usage at 2GB. A class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple and AT&T, claiming fraud and misrepresentation. The plaintiffs in the case are alleging that both Apple and AT&T “deceptively promoted” that they could switch between the unlimited and 250MB plans month by month. The unlimited plan is grandfathered in to current customers paying for the services, but in order to keep it as an option, they can not switch off of it.
