After three weeks of sluggish upload speeds on AT&T HSUPA devices, relief appears to be forthcoming. Reports started to appear over the weekend of the carrier’s network speeding back up, and Retuers is reporting that AT&T has a patch in the process of being installed. According to AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel, “This patch will be deployed on a phased basis over the next two to three weeks.” AT&T had said on July 7th that it was working with equipment maker Alcatel Lucent to fix the glitch, which cut speeds in certain markets for devices using the latest technology. The update only affects customers in markets using Alcatel Lucent gear. AT&T says the iPhone 4 is the only Smartphone running on that network.
