FCC approves its first LTE phone

30 07 2010

Phonescoop is reporting that the FCC has approved its first LTE capable device on the 1700 and 1900 bands.  The device has been identified as Samsung R900, which was first announced by MetroPCS back in March as the first device in the US to run LTE and CDMA.  Few other details about the device are available, such as design or features, but WiFi is listed in the radios, pointing to it possibly being a smartphone.
