Verizon completes acquisition of Centennial Wireless assets

Verizon announced early this week that it completed the acquisition of  AT&T’s Centennial Communications assets.  The FCC mandated transaction divested 117,000 customers in six areas in the Southeast from AT&T to Verizon.  Verizon says that it will convert customers from GSM over to CDMA and roll out a 3G network in the markets.  Verizon now has all spectrum licenses and network assets in the affected areas.
