Apple’s Scott Forstal announced the availability of iOS 5 and a couple of new Apple Apps.
- Apple Cards is a free app that generates real greeting cards on your device, the cards are mailed out via the post office with tracking information pushed out to you at each step of the process. Each card will cost $2.99. Available Oct 12, 2011
- Find My Friends will allow you to easily locate friends and family with simple privacy controls.

- PC-Free activation
- Over-the-air updates
- iCloud support – iCloud will launch on October 12
The iOS5 update will bring more than 200 new features.
iOS 5 will be available October 12 for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, iPod touch 3rd & 4th Generations as a free update.
