Samsung on Tuesday announced the Galaxy Nexus, the next in the Google Nexus line of devices, and the first to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.  The device features:

• 1.2 GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP processor
• 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display at 1280 by 720 resolution (note, not SAMOLED+)
• 1GB of RAM
• 16GB or 32GB of internal storage
• 1750mAh battery
• 5.1MP camera with LED flash
• 1080p video at 30fps
• 1.3MP camera on the front for video
• Bluetooth 3.0
• USB 2.0
• 802.11 a/b/g/n on 2.4 and 5GHz
• LTE or HSPA+ Connectivity (Pentaband 3G will allow both T-Mobile and AT&T use here in the US)
• NFC
• Accelerometer
• Compass
• Gyroscope
• Light/Proximity sensor
• Barometer

The Galaxy Nexus is 8.94mm thick and weighs in at 135 grams.  It will be available in USA, Europe, and Asia beginning in November.  Currently, rumors point towards Verizon as the exclusive LTE provider here in the states, though no announcement has been made.  The sign up page for information about the device has 7 different US carriers listed under “carrier preference”.

 Ice Cream Sandwich brings an entirely new look and feel to Android.
