US Cellular Wednesday announced plans to launch five to seven LTE devices in 2012, including tablets, smartphones and a mobile hotspot. CEO Ted Carlson said the first device will be a tablet, and is planned to be available by the end of the first quarter. Carlson says this will be shortly followed by a handset and hotspot. The carrier plans to deploy LTE in two dozen markets throughout the first three months of the year, covering one-quarter of the network. The full build out will take around three years, half of which should be done by the end of 2012.
