A bug in iMessage is causing some ex-iOS users to have SMS messages blocked from making their way to their new device. In the event that a user was once an iPhone/iMessage customer, and has moved over to away from iOS, SMS messages being sent by other iOS devices to the user’s phone number will be caught up in Apple’s iMessage system, and won’t be delivered as an SMS. TiPb outlines the solution:
- Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
- Log in with your Apple ID.
- Click on “edit products”
- Click on the “x” to the right of the product.
- Click “unregister”
