Virgin Mobile data throttling starts March 23rd

18 01 2012

Virgin Mobile Wednesday indicated on their website that data use throttling will begin for customers going over 2.5GB of data in a single billing cycle.  While there will not be overage fees, users will have speeds capped at 256kbps or less for the remaining portion of their cycle.  Virgin does say in it’s FAQ’s that users will receive a text message once the 2.5GB park is hit, and can choose to use data at the slower rates, or pay for another month at that time.  The change goes into effect starting March 23rd.
