Consumer Cellular Monday made changes to its rate plans, now offering five plans over the previous four. Options include:
- $2.50 per month – 100 messages and 10MB of data
- $5 per month – 500 messages and 50MB of data
- $10 per month – 1000 messages and 100MB of data
- $20 per month – 2500 messages and 250MB of data
- $30 per month – 5000 messages and 500MB of data
As a refresher, voice is extra, with the following plan options:
- $10 per month – 0 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $15 per month – 100 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $20 per month – 300 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $30 per month – 700 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $40 per month – 1200 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $50 per month – 1800 minutes and $.25 for each additional minute
- $60 per month – 2400 minutes and $.10 for each additional minute

The Consumer cellular approach to business…offering no contract cell phone plans such as those outlined above, is terrific for everyone, but especially for the over 50 market they cater to.
The most important thing to remember is not only the plans available but the phones that are available as well. They have everything from the Motorola Bravo, a smart phone for the tech-savvy senior, to the Doro Phone Easy 410, which is a phone optimized for seniors, with big buttons, very loud speaker and the ‘911’ button prominent to make it easy to identify for seniors who have vision issues.
