Former Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein leaves HP

27 01 2012

AllThingsD reported Friday that former Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein is leaving HP.  Rubinstein became an HP employee when Palm was assimilated a few years back.  Rubinstein does not have immediate plans, but HP says, “Jon has fulfilled his commitment and we wish him well.”

Rubinstein is well known for his work on Apple’s iPod before joining private equity firm Elevation Partners, following its 2007 investments in Palm.  In 2009 he replaced Ed Colligan as CEO of Palm, transitioning the company away form PalmOS and ushering in webOS in January of that year.
