Sprint publishes site with timing of impending iDEN network tower shutdowns

6 02 2012

Sprint this week published a site that allows for users to determine when iDEN towers will be shut down in their area.  The site shows specific towers that will be shut down, and offers a timeline for when the expected work will occur.  Sprint is not completely shutting down the iDEN network, rather, is starting the process as part of the Network Vision project.  It will use the 800MHz spectrum for its CDMA voice network, and LTE.
