Saturday Night Live nails Verizon on 4G LTE ads

12 02 2012

Verizon hasn’t exactly had overly clear marketing strategies when it comes to 4G LTE, and Saturday Night Live called them out on it this weekend. The skit shows a customer entering a Verizon store, and while he knows to ask about the 4G LTE network, he has no idea what it means or what it does. The sales rep explains the faster speeds, and barrages the customer with a slew of confusingly named devices. The skit ends with the question “but what if I drop it in the toilet?”, to which the rep answers: “it breaks immediately.” Tagline at the end – “Verizon, it’s an old person’s nightmare”.

Well done SNL.
