Just days after rumors of the DOJ’s approval intentions, the European Commission Monday approved the pending acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google. In a statement, the EU Competition Commissioner said:
“We have approved the acquisition… because upon careful examination, this transaction does not itself raise competition issues.”
The U.S. Justice Department is expected to approve the acquisition this week.
