LG Thursday announced the Optimus 4X HD, the first smartphone with a 1.5GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The 4X HD will run Android 4.0 ICS, with an 8.9mm thickness, 4.7-inch HD IPS LCD display, 1GB or RAM and 16GB of storage. A 2150mAh battery and 8MP rear and 1.3MP front cameras round out the specs. LG says it will be available in the second quarter in Europe.
Also, Nvidia announced that Tegra 3 will now be referred to as 4-Plus-1. Tegra 3 has four cores used to handle intensive computing tasks, with a fifth, low-power core for low CPU tasks.
